Welcome to the home of the Oxford University Swimming Club

Founded in 1892 and based at the Rosenblatt Pool on Iffley Road, the Oxford University Swimming Club (OUSC) now consists of four squads: the Blues team, the Seconds team, Social Swimming, and Open Water Swimming.  A number of our swimmers compete at the highest levels of the sport, making BUCS (British University Championships) and national championship finals. The club also has a vibrant social scene with weekly events, ensuring that everyone feels welcome.

Applying to Oxford?

If you’re thinking about applying to Oxford, then check out our Prospective Applicants page! We’ve compiled some helpful resources and answered some frequently asked questions.

Why join OUSC?

OUSC has something for everyone: ranging from Social Swimming (one session per week), to the Blues Squad (eight sessions per week, plus Blues Performance gym sessions). We also welcome para swimmers and have an open water group who train all year round. Therefore, whether you’re looking to swim competitively or just stay fit, we have something for you!

However, if you asked most of our current members about why they are a part of OUSC, they would speak of the club community. Whether by surviving tough training sessions together or through the weekly socials, being a part of OUSC is a really great way to meet new people. An Oxford degree can be quite stressful at times, so our swimmers really value this community that’s slightly removed from their college and course.

There are many more reasons to join OUSC: team trips, achieving Blues, competing in (and probably winning) Varsities, and much more. You can find out more below!
