Oxford Mixed Relay World Record set in 2000

Oxford Mixed Relay World Record set in 2000

With the 11th channel relay gearing to dive in versus the tabs in late June, I am prompted to recall the great feat of the OXFORD RELAY TEAM IN 2000 and to note where they are now!

PHIL JORDAN was lead swimmer, junior British international and everlasting student who today is CEO of a top Oxford biotech company.

EVA HOFFMAN, Danish international, married Ben Herbert OUSC president and now senior professor in genetics at Copenhagen university.

STU TAIT, British international and now top businessman in HK.

LEXIE DAVISON, now ELLIOTT, Scottish open water champ, Channel solo star and now a director at M&G and published author.

JOHN MCARTHUR, WP GIANT, now back in Canada.

CHLOE FLUTTER, Rhodes scholar, Aussie international and now CEO back in OZ of a huge finance company.

This great team went over in 8hrs 18 mins, still a CS&PF mixed relay world record!

The challenge is on for the 2018 TEAM TO TOPPLE THAT RECORD.

GOOD LUCK!

BEST REGARDS, NICK THOMAS, CO FOUNDER OF THE VARSITY RELAY IN 1998.
